Sugar Price in Karachi Becomes Highest in Pakistan

The latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that the sugar price in Karachi has increased sharply, making it the highest in the country. Karachi residents are now facing a rapid rise in sugar rates, which has added to their daily financial pressure.
According to the new report, the price of sugar in Karachi has gone up by Rs 20 per kilogram within one week. After this increase, citizens in Karachi are being forced to buy sugar at up to Rs 220 per kg, which is currently the highest price in Pakistan.

The Bureau’s report explains that sugar prices have risen in several cities. In Hyderabad, the maximum price is Rs 215 per kg, while in Quetta the price has increased by Rs 2 per kg, reaching Rs 216 per kg.
In other cities, sugar prices also remain high. Khuzdar is selling sugar for up to Rs 210 per kg, and Larkana has a maximum price of Rs 205 per kg. Meanwhile, Islamabad and different parts of Punjab are showing sugar prices of around Rs 190 per kg.

The report further states that sugar prices in Peshawar are also around Rs 190 per kg, while in Sukkur the rate has reached Rs 195 per kg. These figures highlight that the sugar price in Karachi remains the highest in the country compared to all major cities.
